GSX 3000
Government,
the Fortune 500, and other multi-site organizations must leverage IT
resources and share information efficiently without duplicating storage
infrastructure. The conventional approach to data sharing is to copy
files from one file system to another. This approach, which might
better be labeled as “data duplication” or even “data multiplication,”
is extremely wasteful and difficult to manage. As a result, many
organizations struggle with non-optimal productivity and greatly
inflated networking and storage costs in managing their data.
The GSX 3000 NetStorage Control Node offers Global Block Services that
provide organizations with high performance access to shared data, a
reduction in WAN traffic, and secure continuity of operations in spite
of site failures and network disruptions.
The GSX 3000 NetStorage Control Node is a 1U storage network appliance
that enables clustered file systems, databases, and conventional HSM
solutions to be deployed across geography, ensuring local SAN
performance to shared data and Fully-Active COOP. Each NetStorage
Control Node provides up to thirty-two GB of cache memory, sixteen 2
Gb/s Fibre Channel ports, four 4x InfiniBand ports, and two Gigabit
Ethernet ports. The GSX 3000 can interconnect via InfiniBand, Fibre
Channel, Ethernet (10/100/1000 BT), SONET (at signal rates ranging from
T3 to OC192), ATM and 10 GbE.
